We do a lot of development work on our iMac in the office but it is starting to have seen better days and with the Apple WWDC in June rumours were starting to circulate of a new iMac 2020 being released and here we are still waiting and hoping our old iMac will still last until that happens.
The rumours started before WWDC with a tweet from a reliable source that "New iMacs are ready to ship". Then WWDC came and went with only the announcement of new Apple Silicon devices being released at the end of 2020. Starting with a 24" iMac and the MacBook Pro but with probably a 2 year transition and probably a 2 year wait until the first 27" iMac with ARM processor.
After WWDC delivery dates started to slip on the Apple web site and the World Wide Web went crazy with "It's Gonna Be Soon".. and still we waited. Later a GeekBench spec leak and another slip in the delivery times on the Apple web site seems to be hinting that a release is soon.
Rumoured specifications are a new Intel 10th Generation CPU, New AMD Graphics Card and also a full SSD and no Fusion Drive as well as the possibility of a new look or smaller screen bezels.
We just hope that our current hardware will manage to survive until release.
